Academy of Children’s Theatre

Northwest Louisiana doesn’t just cater to the adults in the region — far from it.

The region’s excellent education system pushes its students to strive for excellence, and that excellence thrives across all the extracurriculars that children participate in across the region. A perfect example of this dedication in action is ArtBreak, which allows students of all walks of life to put their talents on display in creative ways that are emblematic of the entire region’s passion for the arts.

As the South’s foremost student art festival, ArtBreak is an acclaimed art showcase that hosts more than 50,000 attendees each year — all of which range from students and teachers to parents and relatives — making ArtBreak the largest student arts festival in the South.

For children who are more scientifically or musically inclined, Northwest Louisiana has something for them too. Sci-Port, a 92,000-square-foot science center in downtown Shreveport, features countless science, math and space exhibits for all science enthusiasts.

For all the little musicians out there, Northwest Louisiana hosts both the Centenary Suzuki School and the Academy of Children’s Theater, each of which provide excellent instruction in stringed instruments and dramatic stage performances, respectively.
